Welcome

Hello, I'm Emma - a qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) specialising in general adult mental health.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply need a space to talk to someone neutral, I offer a safe and reflective environment where you can speak freely, feel truly heard and gain insight to help you move forward or create meaningful change.

As an integrative counsellor, my priority is to keep your needs at the heart of our work together. I draw on a range of approaches and adapt them to suit you, working collaboratively to find the direction for sessions that feels most helpful.

It’s completely natural to feel unsure about what to expect. Counselling looks different for everyone, but many people find that it reduces emotional strain, offers new perspectives, and helps them develop a sense of choice and possibility for change.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'll contact you to arrange a free, initial telephone appointment to discuss your reasons for coming to counselling and for you to to ask questions about my experience or way of working.

Yes, you can find out more about different types of therapy on the BACP website. We can also discuss my way of working and how that might help you in our initial appointment.

Unfortunately, it can only be accessed via steps so it is unsuitable for wheelchair users or those unable to climb stairs.

We will explore further the goals or directions for treatment which came out of our initial phone call and begin our work together.

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, though fortnightly sessions can be arranged.

There’s no set number. Some people come for a short period, while others prefer longer‑term work. We’ll review things together as we go.

Yes. What you share in counselling is confidential, with a few legal exceptions that we’ll discuss in your first session.

It’s completely normal to feel unsure. You’re welcome to book an initial appointment, free of charge, to get a sense of how we might work together.
